I chose 5 stars because this book was truly amazing. It had some really fun adventures in this book, that's what I loved about this book.( I won't tell you anything that happened, I don't want to be a spoiler.) I would recommend this book to girls ages 8-10. Again, one of the best books I EVER read. This book is in my top 5 favorite books and will stay there for ever.
My wife bought this book for me, since I am disabled and have plenty of time on my hands. I finally read it while i was in the hospital and from the first page I couldnt put it down. If i was a writer this is the style i would pick. He perfectly blends the historical with fantasy witout being goofy. Stiger is a great main character and i love the way Marc slowly blends in the fantasy elements into the story. I just bought the 2nd book and will jump right into it as soon as i finish this review. Great job Marc !!! I will catch up with your writing very soon. I look forward to reading everything you put on paper. You cheer me up and make my days go faster. Thanks again-David Mareska
Based on a question answered by "Hub bub" I bought this unit to use as a slide warmer. He had said that you could set it so low that you could hold your hand on it. What he left out was that in less than a minute, your hand would have second degree burns on it! More and more, I trust the answers to questions posed on Amazon, less and less. This unit does a great job at heating up in less than a minute. If "Warm" is hot enough to burn you, then the higher heat settings should be fine to cook on. As it stands, I now turn the unit to "Warm" for a minute, turn it off for fifteen minutes, and it's still too hot to use for evaporating slides without harming delicate tissues. The iron top obviously holds heat exceptionally well. I will experiment around with different tops, to put on the heating platform, to damp down the temperature to where I need it. I'll update, when I get it to where I want it. FWIW, slide warmers are very expensive and not worth the price: They're simply damped-down hot plates. Now I need to find my damper for this unit. UPDATE: 4/26/15: I now turn the unit on for ten seconds, wait for five minutes, take its temperature, and use it as a slide warmer for the next fifteen minutes. I'm happy.
No issues whatsoever. Downloaded ok and filed federal returns without issue. I did not purchase the state part that some others have had issues with.
This item is not very functional. It would have been better is they provided something to pop the bubbles with because once it up on the wall it can be difficult to pop the bubbles. Also, some of the dates were already popped on my calendar. The stickers provided to mark dates were just circle colored dot labels. Pointless because you cant see the date underneath them and it doesn't look so great on the calendar. A clear tinted sticker would have worked better. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest and unbiased review
I will be back to review this product a couple of times. To start, I have about 170 hours of play time on the PC. About 20 play ours off the PC. I will not say this is a replacement for the traditional arts but I can see this being a staple part of learning for artists moving forward. What can I say, we have digitized many things. This is a digital teacher but it will never replace the traditional art of practice, practice.
This thing CAN make very nice pocket hole joints but the markings on the jig are USELESS. I set it up exactly as it says in the instructions with exactly the right screw type and screw length and with the jig set to exactly the matching dimensions of my wood. Then I tried 3 times to make a joint. EVERY time the wood split on the face of the rail (assuming standard rail and stile construction). The pocket hole comes out far too close to the face with the tip of the screw about 1/8" from the face. No wonder it splits. So I then adjusted it by trial and error and got it to work fine by essentially lying about the thickness of my stock. Setting it to 5/8" instead of 3/4" and then eyeballing the depth gauge on the drill bit rather than using the built in guide made it work. I would have really been bummed if I hadn't practiced on some scrap stock firs.
